What is the Paragraph Rewriter?
This paragraph rewriter offers two kinds of mechanical, opt-in changes to a paragraph: clause reordering first, then word-choice swaps on the result. It is not an AI paraphraser — there is no language model generating new sentences. Stage one looks for sentences that open with a short leading clause followed by a comma ("Although the first draft was rushed, the core argument held up") and offers the version with that clause moved to the end ("The core argument held up, although the first draft was rushed"). Stage two then scans the stage-one result against a bundled synonym map and offers alternative words for anything it finds a match for. You accept or reject every single suggestion — nothing changes automatically.
The two-stage design exists because clause order and word choice are different kinds of decisions. Moving a clause to the end of a sentence changes the emphasis and rhythm without touching a single word's meaning — that is a purely structural transform, and it is applied first. Word-choice swaps come from a fixed synonym list, so "important" might offer "significant", "notable" or "key" — but only you know whether "notable" actually fits the sentence better than "important" did, which is why every swap stays a toggle rather than an automatic replacement.

Stage 1 only matches a specific pattern (a short introductory clause followed by a comma). A plain subject-verb-object sentence like this one has nothing for it to restructure.
How accurate is it?
Both stages are pattern-matching, not language generation. Stage 1 matches a fixed regular expression for a leading clause followed by a comma; Stage 2 matches individual words against a bundled synonym dictionary. There is no probability, confidence score or AI judgment involved — a sentence either matches the pattern or it does not.
- Stage 1 only catches one specific structure: a short clause at the very start of a sentence, ending in a comma. Clauses in the middle or end of a sentence are not detected or reordered.
- Stage 2's synonym list is a compact, hand-picked set covering common blog and essay vocabulary — specialised or technical words are unlikely to have a match, and that is expected.
- Synonym options preserve the original word's capitalisation (so "Important" offers "Significant", not "significant"), but they do not check grammatical fit — a swap that changes a sentence from correct to awkward is still possible, which is exactly why every swap requires your approval.
