Merged size is close to the sum of the originals, since content is copied rather than re-encoded. Any duplicate embedded fonts between the two files are not deduplicated, so the total can occasionally run slightly higher than a simple sum.

Reordering the four files before merging changes the final page order with no extra steps — no need to re-export any of the source files.

Accuracy

How accurate is it?

Merging is lossless: each page is copied directly from the source PDF's internal object structure, so text remains selectable, vector graphics stay sharp at any zoom level, and embedded images are not re-compressed or re-sampled.

  • Page content (text, images, vector graphics) copies exactly — there is no rasterization or re-encoding step.
  • Bookmarks/outline entries and interactive form fields from the source files are not rebuilt into a unified structure in the merged document — if you rely on a combined table of contents or working form fields across files, check the output before relying on it.
  • Password-protected PDFs cannot be read in the browser and will need to be unlocked in a PDF reader first.
  • Total merged file size is roughly the sum of the source files' sizes, since nothing is compressed during the merge — use Compress PDF afterward if the combined file needs to be smaller.

There is no fixed limit built into the tool — you can add as many files as you like. In practice you are limited by your device's available memory, since every file is processed in your browser. A handful of typical office documents merges in seconds; dozens of large, image-heavy PDFs will take longer and use more memory.
Do my files get uploaded anywhere?
No. The entire merge happens in your browser using JavaScript. Your PDFs are read from your device, combined in memory, and the result is offered as a direct download — nothing is sent to a server at any point.
Does merging reduce quality or file size?
No — merging is lossless. Pages are copied directly from each source file's internal structure rather than rendered and re-saved, so text stays selectable and images keep their original resolution. The merged file size is roughly the sum of the originals; use Compress PDF afterward if you need it smaller.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Not directly. Encrypted PDFs can't be read in the browser. Open the file in a PDF reader, remove the password or use "Print to PDF" to create an unlocked copy, then upload that version to merge.
Can I change the order of pages after merging?
