Text to PDF
Work on your PDF locally. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored.
What is the Text to PDF?
Text to PDF turns plain text you type or paste into a paginated PDF, with automatic word-wrap and page breaks. Choose A4 or US Letter page size, a font size from 8 to 24pt, and a margin from 24 to 96pt, and the tool lays out your text into as many pages as it needs using a real embedded font — not an image of text. It runs entirely in your browser: nothing you type is sent anywhere, and the finished PDF is generated and downloaded locally.
This is the fastest way to get plain text into a real, standard PDF without opening a word processor — useful for quick notes, generated reports, plain-text letters or any content you already have as text and just need in PDF form.
Why use a free text to pdf?
Real embedded text, not an image
Every character is drawn as actual PDF text using an embedded Helvetica font, so the output is selectable, searchable and copyable — not a picture of your text.
Automatic word-wrap using real font metrics
Lines wrap based on the actual measured width of the embedded font at your chosen size, so text fits the page margins precisely rather than by rough character-count guessing.
Automatic pagination
Long text automatically continues onto new pages when it reaches the bottom margin — you do not need to manually decide where pages break.
Full control over layout
Choose A4 or Letter page size, font size from 8–24pt, and margin from 24–96pt to match how dense or spacious you want the result.
Nothing you type leaves your browser
The PDF is built locally from the text in the box. There is no upload, no server round-trip and no copy stored anywhere.
How do you use the Text to PDF?
- 1
Type or paste your text
Enter your content in the text box. Blank lines are treated as paragraph breaks.
- 2
Choose page size
Select A4 or US Letter, depending on where the document will be used or printed.
- 3
Set font size and margin
Adjust font size (8–24pt) and margin (24–96pt) to control how much text fits per page and how much white space surrounds it.
- 4
Create the PDF
Click "Create PDF." Text wraps and paginates automatically using the real width of each line at your chosen font size.
- 5
Download
Save the finished PDF, with the total page count shown before you do.
What does it look like in practice?
A short cover letter
Input
~350 words of plain text, A4, 12pt font, 56pt margin
Result
A 1-page PDF, roughly 15 KB
At 12pt on A4 with a standard margin, roughly 40–45 lines fit comfortably on one page before a second page begins.
A long plain-text report
Input
~4,500 words of plain text, Letter size, 11pt font, 48pt margin
Result
A 9-page PDF, roughly 60 KB
Word-wrap is calculated from the actual embedded font's character widths at 11pt, so line breaks land at real word boundaries rather than a fixed character count.
How accurate is it?
Text is laid out using the real, measured width of each word in the embedded Helvetica font at your chosen size — word-wrap decisions are based on actual font metrics, not an estimate. Page breaks are inserted exactly when the next line would fall below the bottom margin, so pagination is deterministic and repeatable for the same text and settings.
- The output uses a single built-in font (Helvetica) at a uniform size — there is no support for bold, italics, multiple fonts or font size changes within the document.
- Blank lines start a new paragraph; the tool does not interpret Markdown, HTML or any other markup — asterisks or pound signs appear literally in the output.
- Very long unbroken strings (a URL or a string with no spaces longer than the line width) are not force-broken mid-word, so they can overflow the right margin slightly.
